Ground cherry is a sweet nutty fruit. wrapped up in a brown paper bag shell like a delicious colt 45.
tastes like a nutty pineapplish thing.
we got them at greensgrow yesterday and am eating them plain. but you could make a pie or jam with them too. or put them in yogurt or throw them at your friends.

You just rocked my world. One-I didn’t know you also went to Greensgrow! Two-I thought they were tomatillos (which they are) and the only thing I knew about them was that I could make a salsa out of them. I was thinking they were going to be savory, not sweet. Looking forward to heading home and trying them out. Thanks!
they are kinda savory in a sweetish way. like maybe the same way a tomato can be sweet and savory. ish. but anyone- add sugar and you can make a jam outta anything.
best of luck!
These things are SO easy to grow! The plants spread out but stay low to the ground. Unless you have chipmunks, you get a big handful every day from July through October. Bonus, if you let a few fruits fall to the ground, plants will spring up all over the next year.
